This blog post stems from a collection of recent experiences, but is mostly rooted in a more active involvement/observance in the mathematics education Twitter space and blogosphere.
Here are some things that I've noticed ...
There's a lot of hate towards different technologies.
I find selecting a singular technology similar to the classic: "Do you prefer PC or Mac" debates, except more dysfunctional. With so many people that love mathematics and love technology, I have to wonder - why all the hate towards specific technologies? I think these types of discussions are different than the PC/Mac debates because you don't have to choose ONE technology. You can chose all of them; and, I think that it's perfectly logical to state preference one technology over another at different points in one's mathematical career and/or teaching career.
In my humble opinion:
There is no perfect technology.
